I've been surfing lately, and somethings been bugged me about how applications scroll. This hack was an attempt to fix that.
Its an init that patches ScrollRect and does animated scrolling, showing, for examing, where the stuff at the bottom of the screen scrolls up to. Wackiness in my patch guesses pretty well when you're paging up or down a full page, and doesn't do its animation then, instead only when your near to top or bottom of your document. Try it on this file and see. The hack might also do its thing when expanding Finder list views in the System 7 Finder (why not Tempo? something about it not being a fat patch I believe), it looks kinda cool.
Holding down the control key at boot time disables the hack. It also spits out in a DebugStr the address of a flag, clear the long word at that address to enable the hack. I was going to make the hack a control panel, but ran out of time.
Enjoy.
?.!!.
P.S. this hack was written entirely (with the exception of this readme and the control key disable part) on Friday, starting at about 2:30 am.
